George Evans enters his fourth season as the Assistant Coach, Sprints & Hurdles at Brown University. Evans came to Brown after spending two years as the men's and women's sprints coach at Youngstown State in Youngstown, OH. While at Youngstown, Evans improved the sprints program and helped lead the women's team to two Horizon League Championships. In all, he coached four individual conference champions, and an NCAA regional qualifier. Evans' athletes set nine school records and seven conference records during his tenure. While at Lehigh, Evans was a two-sport athlete for the Mountain Hawks in track and football. In track, he was an NCAA East Regional Championship qualifier and a two-time Patriot League Champion as a senior. He won the indoor Patriot League title in the 60m and the outdoor 200m, and he added a second-place finish in the 100m at the IC4A Championships in 2004. He holds five school records in track & field, and was named Lehigh's Men's Track and Field Athlete of the Year his senior year. |
