Winter Academic All-Ivy Honorees Announced

The Ivy League released its winter list of Academic All-Ivy honorees, with ten Brown student-athletes being recognized. The five males and five females were starters or key reserves on their respective varsity teams and carry a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average. (MORE)

Bears Finish 20th at NCAA Fencing Championships
On the final day of competition at the NCAA Fencing Championships, Brown sophomores Adam Pantel (Mendham, NJ) and Adam Yarnell (Harrison, NY) combined for seven wins, bringing the Bears' team total to 27, good for a 20th place finish. Pantel placed 17th in men's foil with nine victories, while Yarnell was 20th in men's epée with eight wins. (MORE)

Pantel and Yarnell Both 5-9 After First Day at NCAAs
On the first day of men's competition at the 2008 NCAA Fencing Championships at Ohio State, Brown sophomores Adam Pantel (Mendham, NJ) and Adam Yarnell (Harrison, NY) both posted 5-9 records, putting themselves in 17th and 20th place, respectively entering the final day of competition on Sunday. Combined with sophomore Randy Alevi's (Old Westbury, NY) 10 wins in womens' saber, the Bears' team total of 20 victories puts them in a tie for 19th with Brandeis. (MORE)
